Kurssilla käydään läpi käsintehdyn paperin vaiheet massan valmistuksesta valmiiksi arkiksi. Käytämme tällä kurssilla kuituina pellavaa, hamppua ja kierrätettyä puuvillaa. Materiaalit sisältyvät kurssiin, mutta halutessaan voi ottaa mukaan palan vanhaa kangasta (luonnonkuitua), josta haluaisi tehdä paperia. Voit ottaa myös mukaan jotain kevyttä ja litteää, jota liittää paperin pintaan. Tähän käyvät esimerkiksi lanka, kuivatut ja prässätyt kasvit. Kurssille tarvitset mukaan omat kumisaappaat.

Basic course: Introduction to Papermaking 24.–26.5.2024

In this course you will learn the whole process of papermaking from preparing the pulp to a finished product. The fibers we use are flax, fibre hemp and recycled cotton. All materials are included in the price. However, if you want, you can bring some extra materials with you, for example an old bedsheet or cloth of your choice (100% natural fiber) that you wish to make paper of, and/or something light and thin to attach on the papers, like thread or dried and pressed plants. Please bring your own rubber boots. Teaching language: Finnish, English

Registration is due 20.5.
For cancellations after that date, 50% of the course price will be withheld. If registration is cancelled later than 48 h before the course starts, 100% of the course price will be withheld.
